Republicans continue their fear of history and "moderate" Virginia Governor, Glenn Youngkin, is no different. His administration's draft history standards says that Native Americans were America's first immigrants and suggests there were many reasons for the Civil War, not just slavery. By labeling Native American's as immigrants, the displacement (and murder) of them becomes more acceptable. Suggesting there were many reasons for the Civil War, aims to minimize the atrocities of slavery and support the South's love affair with their past while having no guilt for it. Only cowards are afraid of history.
